Begging for your prayers

Well, tomorrow is surgery day. Lindsay's surgeon has decided the best option for her is to go back to her BT shunt only redo it with a bigger one. If she recovers fine from that, it will be six months or so before they try the hemi-fontan again. If she doesn't, Lindsay will officially be put on the transplant list by Monday. Please pray that this works tomorrow and that she accepts the change to her heart. We will be posting updates as we get them tomorrow. Lord, please be with the surgeons to make the best possible decisions for Lindsay tomorrow and that she has a speedy recovery so that we can get home and love on her again.
Love, Suzie and JR

Dear Suzie and Jr.
I am stunned at what you have been handed to handle. The decisions you have had to make in these past few days with your children. I pray for Lindsay to have a quick recovery after surgery tomorrow. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day. I know you will stay strong and get through this.

Suzie and Jr.,

The tears have been flowing just as much as the prayers have. We'll continue to lift Lindsay, and your entire family, tomorrow and in the coming days. She's such a strong little girl. She has an amazing family and friends that love her so much. She's going to come through this even stronger than before.

I came down to Cruz's room a few times today to try and check in on any of you present, but it looked dark and like sleeping was needed. Didn't want to disturb. I'll be back at Bronson most of the day tomorrow, so will try to check in again. Prayers and cyber hugs sent your way. Sorry I missed the opportunity to give a real one. Strength and grace wished for all.

Dear Suzie and Jr.,

Since we met in the waiting room last week, we have shared much of the progress of Connor, and tried to follow the progress of Lindsay every day. We apreciate that you have been so supportive of us as we have been going through Connor's first surgery... even as you are facing challenges of you own. It is proof of how strong your family is that you can offer encouragement to others like us. We are including Lindsay in our prayers. We hope to see her recovering and moving out of the PCTU as soon as possible.

Suzie~ Oh, friend...I don't have the words to express what my heart feels for you at this moment. Neither Lindsay nor you have left my thoughts for a moment today...she is so precious to our family. I have passed along the word of her surgery to my family to ask for their prayers, as well. Lindsay has amazed us time and time again and I am praying for her to amaze us all again tomorrow as she thrives through surgery and recovers better than ever.
This road isn't easy as a heart mom, but you were chosen, Suzie. You were chosen because God knew that you would be the best for her! Love your beautiful little princess and whisper words of encouragement to her tonight...telling her how strong and brave she is and how proud we all are of her.
We are praying...

Heart hugs~ Rebecca

Dear Suzie and JR,

I just knew that Rebecca would have the perfect words to help you tonight...and she did. So, when you hold your princess and each other, just re-read her words and you will feel peace and hope. I never thought to put it the way Rebecca did...and that is because only she could...but it is so special.

As I searched for help for you...and myself today...I remembered my rosary beads of long ago. I went to the drawer, took them out and put them in my jacket pocket before I went back to work. I hold them in my hand and pray constantly...while I drive, when I am alone, or when I am in the middle of a crowd (picture Toys R Us looking for Spongebob)...I will keep them with me everywhere I go.

As you read all these loving notes from your friends, you will know we all have you in our hearts...now and forever. We are here for you and are praying constantly.

Linda...as a mom and a grandma, you are getting a double dose of stress, responsibility, fear, and thankfully, love. Be sure to call one of us if it is too much. We love you.

Remember all of you...read Rebecca's words...

All my love, Elaine

Wow, another surgery. You guys will be in our prayers today. I know of an HLHS family here whose child did fine with the first two but had to have the Fontan done 3 times and now the little boy's doing fine. Hopefully this surgery will be just what Lindsay needs. Praying for wisdom for the surgeons and peace for your whole family and that this surgery works and no transplant is needed.

Heart Hugs,

Julie

GOOD NEWS from Ann Arbor:

Hi, everyone...Linda just called me and asked me to post.

Lindsay is out of surgery. The Dr. reversed the second surgery and then put in a larger shunt...after which Lindsay's oxygen levels immediately went up. He was very pleased with how well she did. He thinks that maybe she was just a
little too young to have the second surgery and that this will give them a few months
time before they have to try the Hemi again. He was still unable to fix the leaky valve but did not seem overly worried about that. I sense that he made it clear we are VERY lucky that she survived this surgery. He closed her chest and if he needs to go in and try an even larger shunt, he will just reopen her...but he does not anticipate that happening. The Dr. said the chance of her surviving the next Hemi is only about 50/50...but if our Princess Lindsay can handle all this, I am going to be optimistic about the next surgery!!

The family has not seen her yet, and they are not posting this themselves because they need to go eat. Suzie will post later with more exact info and if I made any mistakes, correct them!

Keep all the prayers coming...I know God is listening to all of us. You are all so loved by Suzie and JR.

Love and Heart Hugs, Elaine
