Lindsay was born June 11, 2008 at CS Mott Children's Hospital at the University
of Michigan with a congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Because her heart was too weak for complete surgical repair, Lindsay was placed on the heart transplant list in November 2008. After a long fighting wait,
her angel heart finally arrived just in time to her in June 2009. Lindsay was finally able to make her way home in
July of 2009 to begin her
new life with her family. 3 year old Lindsay Raye Dean, daughter of Everett (JR) and Suzanne (Lumbard) Dean of Parchment, received her angel wings Friday evening,
June 17, 2011 at Bronson Methodist Hospital after having a seizure which led to cardiac failure.
Lindsay is survived by her
two brothers, Cole and Cruz Dean; grandparents, Mary Dean (Parchment), William and Linda Smith, Donald
and Susan Lumbard (all of Kalamazoo); great grandparents, Clarence and Delores Lumbard (Plainwell); aunts and uncles, Daniel Lumbard (Pensacola, FL), Ken and Suzan Dean (Parchment), Doug and Deb Farrer (Kalamazoo), Robb and Carole Simpson (Wayland), Marva Simpson (Kalamazoo), Daniel Simpson (Clarendon Hills, IL), Jeff
and Carol Simpson (Lebanon, NJ), Jeannie Schoonbeck (Portage), John and Pam Lindsay (Muscatine, IA), Rick and Debra Lindsay (San Diego, CA), Wade and Retta Town (Kalamazoo), and Ed and Cindy Dean (Scotts); cousins, Braeden and Camden Lumbard (Pensacola, FL), Zachary Dean (Parchment) and Samantha Dean (Kalamazoo).
Preceded in death by her grandfather, Everett Dean, Sr.; great grandparents, Carrol and Margaret Lindsay, George and Ruth Dean, and Albert and Beatrice Schoonbeck; and uncle, Charles Simpson.

I pray God gives you peace and comfort. I know we've never acually met, but through you blog and FB I feel like I've know you forever. To find out that we both know another little man who also is a special heat baby is both crazy and funny. I hope to meet you someday here on earth and I can't wait to see Dylan and Lindsay in Heaven.
Much love and God bless ~

Love you, sweet friend. You are in my constant thoughts and prayers.
You do not know me, but I wanted to express to you my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beautiful angel, Lindsay. I lost my daughter, Caiya, suddenly on May 31st of this year. She was 2 1/2 years old. She had also had special needs since birth, but even so, I know there was no way to prepare for the pain you're feeling right now. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers and please take comfort in knowing that Lindsay has a special friend in Heaven. <3
My heart breaks for your loss of Lindsay. She was such a beauty!!!
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I will be praying for your family.

My daughter Addison was roommates with Lindsay at Motts, earlier this year. We had fun watching American Idol with her and having two fun filled "slumber party" nights. She was a brave little fighter and I know how proud you are of her. Lindsay will never be forgotten by me or my family. God Bless Lindsay and her entire family.
Much love,
Eric Chase

While we will all have a Christmas this year thinking of Lindsay and missing her we have to remember that she is so blessed this Christmas season to be spending Christmas with Jesus---The reason for the season. I am sure they will have a great celebration!! Really miss your blogs on your family and hope one day you will once again be able to post again. You are a great writer.
I've been thinking a lot of Lindsay lately. I just wanted to let you know she is not forgotten, even though I don't know you and never met her. I also hope that you will someday be able to post again. I hope you find peace in our Savior this Christmas season.
Praying that the hopes and promise of the Christ child provides some small measure of comfort as you prepare for what will undoubtedly be a most painful, bittersweet Christmas. You have been thought of at least a thousand times since Lindsay flew home. I don't know if you can bring yourself to this place once so full of hope and celebration of all Lindsay achieved in her three short but full years. I pray you know peace, a peace that comes from knowing the Prince of peace. God bless the Dean famIly on tis most holy holiday!
Cannot help but think of the Dean family at the dawn of a New Year without their precious girl. Thinking of you with hope today. God Bless you!
Thinking of you tonight, knowing for real that no celebration will ever be as bright, no holidy as jolly, no special night as precious. I continue to pray for your family, and hope for all of us 'mothers with a hole-heart' that the new year will bring us a glimpse of peace, and the hope of heaven.
Suzy,
Thinking of you this Mother's Day knowing how bittersweet it all is. I know that the next several weeks will be excruciating, though I cannot imagine for an instant how excruciating. I just wanted you to know I said a prayer for you on this Mother's Day!
Thoughts and prayers for your family one year after losing your Angel Princess. Hugs!
Just in case you still look at comments I want you to know I still think of your family often and continue to pray for you all.
Thinking of your dear family today.
