Called on the princess

I couldn't sleep more after getting a two hour nap, so I called to check in on Lindsay. Nurse Tammi said that she is doing just great! She is still getting blood products to try and boost her crit levels. (currently at 32 and they would like them around 40 at the least) Otherwise, at 11pm, they will be adjusting the vent once more and we are slowly weaning her. Apparently the princess has other ideas because she really seems to want to walk right out of there. Tammi said that she woke up again and showed her her new trick from the last few weeks......shaking her head "no". You just have to laugh because even though you can't see it on her face yet, I just know that she is smiling when she is doing it. Little stinker! Needless to say, she got more drugs!! We are so thankful that she is feisty!!! Oh, and almost forgot, the drainage from her chest tubes has decreased from almost 30cc's per/hour per tube (and she has three of them) down to only about 10 cc's per hour per tube! Good girl Lindsay! Ok, back to trying to fall asleep for the night.
Love to you all!
Suzie

Lindsay, Suzie and JR

I'm so happy for you all, and of course Cole and Cruz also. What a huge hurdle, knowing what someone else has given is overwhelming! I can only tell you we wish you all a much better second year than the first one has been.

We love you guys.

Yeah! I'm so happy to hear that Lindsay is doing good! Love the pink hands and feet! Maybe Colin will have those after his fenestration closure, but until then, I enjoy seeing them on princess Lindsay! :) Praying for you to get some good rest and of course for Lindsay.

Well, nice to hear from ya, Suz...we can't sleep either!! So...checking the blog one more time...and I know I am one of a cast of thousands!! I can just see her shaking her head "no"...how adorable is that? You know, once you create a princess, you are stuck with her...so when she hits 16 and stays out late with Daddy's car, remember we all did this with our adoration of the princess!! :)

I hope you really get some sleep tonight, because I am sure your body needs it by now. Have a wonderful day with Lindsay tomorrow and give our love to Linda and whoever else is there by now. Speaking of Linda...does the Grandma get to see Lindsay at least?...or does everyone have to stay away for 3 mos...man, being a grandma, all I can say is that would SUCK!!!

Sweet dreams, Love, Elaine

Had to check once more before I really try to sleep... so glad I did! So glad to hear that she is continuing her recovery so well! Hope to see a pink princess with no vent very soon (but not too soon!)! Get some rest - you deserve it!
