Hello to everyone......I just wanted to let all of you know that I will be posting information on this blog and it will appear as though it's from Suzie and JR, but it's really ME.
Suzie had a "Suzie day" today, although she is still working and organizing the tanning salon, hair salon and travel agency to run in her absence. Her hair is done, toes have little hearts on them and she is now headed to have a massage. GOOD FOR HER!!!
Her anticipation of Lindsay's birth is almost overwhelming, however I have seen her grow (not just literally) but spiritually every day. To say that I'm proud of her would be an understatement.
Some of you might remember tiny little Suzie Lumbard as that determined competative twirler going all the way to the World Championships in Amsterdam and winning it. It is that determination that I once again see in her. Never once have I heard her say, "why us?"
My former neighbor, Karen Grainger, sent me a poem about parents being chosen to be sent a child that needs special care. This poem was on the door of another heart baby when their daughter, Taylor was born. Karen shared this poem as her way to support us through this journey, a journey they know all too well. Ironically thier daughter, Taylor, was born with her own set of heart problems. After a couragious battle with PLE, a protein difficiency that some HLHS children develope, Taylor lost her fight on May 15, 2007 at age 14. Taylor and her brother, Alex, and sister, Lauren, were my "practice grandchildren" and now Taylor is my granddaughter's angel. I truly believe that Taylor was also right there to take care of angel Annabelle when she arrived in heaven.
We now have a week left before Lindsay's birth and I'm off the road and home for anything Suzie and JR need until whenever. Suzie's friend, Dani, will be arriving from Oregon, this week and will be accompaning me in Ann Arbor to be with Suzie and JR. Suzie was able to travel to Oregon to be with Dani and Mark for the birth of their daughter, Brooke, in April. Suzie needed a positive birth experience as well as helping Dani and Mark with their son, Ian. What would we do without our friends. My best friend, Pam, has been with me every step of the way ministering with me. I am truly blessed to have her as my friend.
Cole and Cruz are scheduled on a rotation with Don, Aunt Carole, and me through the middle of July with backups from many volunteers.
With your donations, Don has sent off a check to The Ronald McDonald House and they will have Pfizer match the funds. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! They will flip when they see what you all have done.
Our families could not do this without God and all of your support. Thank you all!

Dear Linda,
First of all...what a precious picture of Suzie, Jr, and the boys. The cuteness is just overwhelming! Cole's sweet little arm wrapped around Suzie's tummy, as if he can protect baby Lindsay just by hugging her.
Your sweet note to all of us is so appreciated...please know as you write to us from Ann Arbor, we will be hungry for information and will read all you want to write...there is no such thing as too much information!
We will all be praying for you, thinking about you and wishing we could physically be there to help prop you up, love you and just BE there...but of course there is not room for ALL of your friends in Ann Arbor, so the blog will be our lifeline. I have had an out of state friend with cancer this year and her blog kept us all sane as we prayed and kept up with the whole family's trials. Their blog was a gift to all of their friends and so I know yours will be too.
You mentioned "little Suzie Lumbard and her determination". Oh you are so right. I want you to know what a special young woman you raised and how much I treasure her friendship now that she is an adult. You are right to be proud of her...she has handled this with such grace and tenacity, organization and planning. Ah, the research she has done! I join you in being so very proud of her, of Jr. and all of your friends and family. I just know that together with love and faith, we are going to get this precious family through this.
Love, Elaine
Suzie, Jr., Cole, and Cruz,
Just wanted to let you know that we think about you all the time and you are in our prayers everyday. Wishing you the best as your induction day comes closer. I truly believe in miracles and the power of prayer. God is good and I truly believe that he will pull you all through this with a joyous outcome!
Blessings,
Aimee, Steve, Ryan & Hannah Gillespie
Love the picture! You all look so happy as you very much should be as you anticipate this precious little girl! Oh I know Annabelle is one of Lindsay's angels now, too. And it comforts me so to know my baby girl had so many precious children welcoming her to her eternal home...thank you, Linda, for sharing that about Taylor.
You are in our prayers...God is good and He will provide far beyond you can imagine right now. We can't wait to meet you, Lindsay! So much love and prayers are lifted on your behalf...Heart hugs~ Rebecca
