The last few days

The last few days have been pretty low key. Just trying to keep her comfortable and trying to get her to tolerate feeds when we get to the higher rate per hour. X-ray indicates that she has some barium (sp) in there somewhere from the swallow study and really don't want that to get stuck and then bind her up. So, basically, trying to get her pooping so that she will pass that. Then maybe her belly problems will be over. Let's hope so because that is one step closer to blowing this pop-stand!!!!!!
Labs indicated this morning that she had an elevated white blood cell count so they drew blood cultures to see if anything is brewing. She does not have a fever, but has been sleeping more than normal. Let's just pray that she is just healing and not trying to fight off anything. If she is, they are on top of it and then she starts IV antibiotics. If anything, I'm thinking a UTI. hmmmm. Let's hope that I am wrong! Otherwise, all is well and she is gaining every day.
On a sad note, a heart baby passed away here yesterday. Ethin Twigg was born in January with HLHS. He has had a tough road and unfortunately coded yesterday and they could not resuscitate him. Please pray for his mom, Jessica, and the whole Twigg family. We are just heartbroken.
I will update more as we get results. The praying continues......
Love, Suzie

Thank you for the update on the Princess! We keep praying for baby steps...and for that barium to pass! Praying, too, that the elevated count is perfect healing for your precious girl.
A fellow heart mom here in SC is friends with Jessica and updated her son's carepage yesterday about Angel Ethin. What a beautiful baby boy...we are holding Jessica close in prayer.
So, so good to hear your voice yesterday...I hope to chat again soon! You amaze me, friend.
Love to you~ Rebecca

I check your blog daily, it is so awesome to hear that Lindsay is getting better. She has such an AMANZING strength, so strong, yet so little. Look out world when she has her full strength and is ready to go. Your little girl is an AWESOME example of God's grace. My family and I continue to pray for Lindsay and your family on a daily basis. Thank you so much for updating your blog.

I will also pray for the Twigg family.

I just read about Ethin on Zachary's care page and Michelle's words put in tears. What she says is so true... every single breath our children breath is from the Lord and He will eventually call them Home.

I'm glad that there haven't been any surprises with Lindsay over the past few days. I loved seeing the new pictures of her precious face and big eyes (and even more glad to see those eyes OPEN!). Your family is never far from my mind and we continue to pray for "little Lindsay miracles" everyday!

Love, Danielle

Thinking of you......I remember at the funeral of a good friend's daughter when she (the mom and good friend) asked; "If our children came to us with a tag that said you only get to have her/him for 1 year, 5 years, etc....would you do anything different?....God". For the special heart babies out there, I can see that no one would.....you love, honor and respect every precious moment...hoping for the best, cherishing the present and planning on a fabulous future.

Praying for every heart baby's tag to have a huge, far out date on it.....
with love,
Kyle
