One hiccup but we are back on track!

I received a call from the ICU around 12noon and they said that they were having a problem with Lindsay's blood pressure being too low. A decision was made to do an echo and they found a lot of dark area around her right atrium. Either one huge blood clot or a lot of smaller ones. So, Dr. Ohye came in and opened her back up bedside and removed MANY clots and also stitched a few things that may have been nicked during surgery that were still bleeding. So, when that was finished, Lindsay's pressure is right where it needs to be. Whew! We just got back again from seeing her and you thought she was a little feisty before, well, you should see her now! She is trying to wake up!! They also lowered the vent settings some more so maybe extubation tomorrow???? Let's not jump the gun with her and let her rest tonight has been the decision and we all agree!!! She is now getting, in addition to all of the other drips, an ativan drip because she keeps trying to escape and go play!!! Oh, she looks soooooo good!!!!!!!

I really need to take some time right now to extend our deepest sympathies along with great gratitude to our donor family. My emotions just take over me as I write how eternally grateful we are for them being so selfless in their decision to donate life and making it possible for us to have our princess. Please know that your baby will forever live on in Lindsay. We will love you forever!!!!!!!!

I will update again soon. (maybe not again tonight though unless something changes with her status)
Heart Blessings~

Well...you know the princess...on her own time, when she is ready, when she is in the mood...apparently she was not getting enough one on one attention! I am very glad the hiccup is over...and thank heavens for that wonderful surgeon!

They are running a story on WWMT today about Lindsay finally getting her heart. Tonight, that story was followed by one about a Michigan high school senior who got a heart transplant when she was 8 yrs old. She asked her surgeon if she was going to die...he replied "no...I promise to dance with you at your prom"...and he did! He surprised her at her prom! Now, what are the chances of those two stories airing on the same day???

We Prayer Warriors will keep praying...don't think we are going to rest on our laurels! Thank you so much for the great updates...we are living for them!!

We love you, Elaine

What a trooper. I am so happy for you and your family. You will go through so many emotions literally one minute so, the other so. I am praying for no more hickups and also for the family who lost their child but gave life to many other children. What a selfless thing to do. We love you and pray for the best, thinking of you every minute that I am awake.

That sure sounds like Lindsay! She's not allowed to do what she wants--wake up and play, so she's going to keep all of you (and wonderful Dr. Ohye) from doing what you most need to do--get some well deserved rest!

What a stinker!

Will keep on watching and praying for you while you try to get some sleep.

Praise God that she is doing well. I know that I was thinking and praying for her everytime I woke up last night. We won't stop praying for her as well as the family that has lost a loved one. We posted something on Lindsay's blog right away last night to get all our prayer warriors praying as well as my facebook friends. I had a lady who is a friend of my aunt add Lindsay to her facebook page last getting all her friends to pray. God is good!!

Love,

Our hearts and our prayers go out to the donor family. They are proof that there are angels living among us. So happy Lindsay is feeling better already. She's got spunk! Spunk is good.

Thanking God for Lindsay's progress and the "hiccup" without that they wouldn't have found the clots and extra bleeding. God is so awesome. We are praying in NJ and thanking the Lord also for the precious family who gave their most precious gift to you. We know what they are going through, but we are so happy for Lindsay. We keep checking the blog and letting all our prayer warriors know. Her name is soooooo before our Great God and HE is right there beside her. Love to all from NJ.

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:3-5

So thankful for God's blessings upon your family.
