Getting Lots of Attention Today!

We got the lovely news today that her infection IS in her blood. To put it nicely, AWWW CRAP!! So, because of that, she now is the proud owner of two new peripheral IV's, another antibiotic, and we said our goodbyes to her PICC line that she has had since February. Good job Dr. Bocks for putting that good line in! It lasted ALOT longer than typical. We are hoping that the new IV's last at least a couple of days so that her blood can be sterilized through the new lines and then we can send her to the cath lab to get another one. grrrrrrrrr. Crappy, but something we have to do since she is still on IV lasix and getting a load of antibiotics. Praying for those lines to hold but will be difficult since some of the antibiotics are so harsh and should really be administered through a stronger line, like a PICC. So, prayer warriors on high alert! Pray for the lines to hold there own, the antibiotics to do their job and fight this infection, and for Lindsay to start feeling better. Speaking of that, thank you all for the great comments about Lindsay's new blog photo. I do have to tell you though that that is not her right now. This is one of Patti's wonderful shots of her from just a few days before transplant. Unfortunately, she is not that happy right now and is just plain wiped out. Trust me, I wish it was!
We had some visitors today and had great visits with them all. Aunt Carole and Uncle Robb stopped by for a while and as always, so good to see! We also had a visit from Becky, Layla, and Zelly Muhammad(flew in today from Arkansas) and Cindy Fogg. We had a yummy dinner with them and it was a great distraction from the day that we had......or should I say, that Lindsay had. ;-) Thank you again! We had a great time.
All for now.
Love, Suzie

Praying, Praying , Praying!!!! Those blood infection are dangerous, and my prayers are focused that it was caught early, lines hold, and antibiotics are doing the trick. Come on Lindsay, keep up that fighting spirit!!! Fight off this infection with all you've got. Also praying that your doctors know what is best, and are doing all they can to help you. Huge hugs to you all as you continue this long journey and another bump in the road. Hopefully she can get over this bump quickly and get back to recovering.

Continuing to ask God to heal Lindsay, and to keep her strong. It breaks my heart to hear that your precious baby is feeling so miserable. Bless her little heart, she has endured so much in the last couple of weeks. Hoping that her IV's hold up, and that the new antibiotics will knock this infection out of her system quickly. Can't wait for those beautiful smiles again!

Hugs and God's blessings to sweet Lindsay, and the whole Dean family,

Gosh darn. Glad they are on top of it though and taking the precautions necessary to "fix" it! I will pray specifically for good IV lines and for the antibiotic to do it's job. Bless her little heart... she has endured so much. One day, hopefully soon, we will see that happy, smiling girl again... I just know it! Love and prayers... Danielle

As always Lindsay is in every ones prayers as are you. It is tough to stay strong through so much and your family is doing an awesome job. I have a friend who's son had to have a bone marrow transplant and when I read your blog about what poor Lindsay is going through it brings back all of the things that happened with him. He is finally doing well and is living a somewhat "normal" life. Hang in there, it will all be so worth it when you get to take Lindsay home for good and she can start just being a kid.

We will pray very specifically for the antibiotics to work miracles, for the IV lines to hold and for our precious princess to start to feel better. We all love to picture her just exactly like the picture above, not sick in bed...but we know we do not always get what we want.

So... PRAYER WARRIORS PRAY!

Suzie and JR...we are so sorry you have to deal with yet another set back...please remember how much we all love you and that we are praying for and thinking of you...ALL the time.

Love, Elaine and Bill

The family reunion went well on Sunday with Lindsay's Great Aunt Marva (now the matriarch of the family), cousins Carole, Robb and Dan and Grandma Linda, brothers Cole and Cruz and scads of other cousins.

We're all pulling for Lindsay and hoping she'll be able to join us in person next year!

Thinking of you and praying for Lindsay from Canada. I started reading your blog just after her transplant. I remember being so amazed and happy for you that it had gone so smoothly! I'm sorry that there have been so many difficulties lately. My husband was born with a CHD and had a transplant 5 months ago. His road was very difficult. He spent over 6 weeks in the CvICU and another 2 months in the hospital after. I just want you to know that he is now home. He is still recovering but getting better! All of your updates and struggles remind me how difficult it was! Keep going -Keep praying - Keep fighting!!!

Suzie,
I have been visiting daily since I saw the posting on Rebecca Butcher's blog that Lindsay was receiving a heart. I have a 9 month old grandson with HLHS. He is doing great. I just want you to know that I have been praying for your little sweetie pie. This morning I took her new picture and put it on my desktop so that each time I saw her I could say a little prayer for her. She has been through so much. She is beautiful. Please also know that I have been praying for you and your husband. Keep the Faith!
